Lisa – (MOD GM)
What is appealing about WOMACK Restaurants, DBA MOD Pizza?
The things that make working at WOMACK appealing are: I feel like I have the freedom to run the store like it is my own, while staying within the parameters that the company sets forth. I take pride in running my unit and have great relationships with the people in the community as a result. People love coming to MY MOD as they feel welcome, respected for their individuality and comfortable. I have regulars that call it their MOD & bring friends in because they love it here so much! Being allowed to do the little things to enhance guest experience, such as “buying their meal” when they are having a rough day, to giving them a no name cake just because, putting Cindy & Sandy’s picture on the Wall of Fame at a new location, having a special table set for their 27th anniversary, I could go on & on. Basically, MOD allows me to make an impact on others lives, which makes me very happy.
What is your "why" for staying with us?
My reason for staying: I have a great work life balance. The company does its part by running now hiring ads when I need people & that allows me to add staff easily. Other companies I’ve worked for have required me to go out in my spare time to actively recruit. Aside from not having to do this on my own time, I have the ability to properly staff my unit, which in turn protects my off time, versus coming into work every time I can’t cover a shift. This alone makes my job much less stressful. We also have a true “promote from within” culture. I have hired many people in as a MOD Squad that have thrived and moved up in the company. In addition, we pay our people well, as well as feed them every time they work. This is a major selling point during the hiring process. It sets us apart from our competitors.
I also love that our culture allows me to have special needs employees on staff. This is something that is near & dear to my heart. Being able to empower someone that may not otherwise be given an opportunity to support themselves is huge!
If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times, “My worst day here is better than my best day at any other company I’ve worked for!”
